Hollywood, California — With nods for best picture, production design, and original score—plus the best director honor going to Guillermo del Toro—The Shape of Water emerged the top winner at the 90th Academy Awards on Sunday. Jordan Peele made history as the African-American honored with the Oscar for best screenplay. The best actor award went to Gary Oldman for his turn as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour. Frances McDormand garnered her second Academy Award in the best actress category for her work in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. McDormand’s Three Billboards castmate Sam Rockwell and Allison Janney of I, Tonya took each home the gold for supporting actor and actress respectively.
